Rotary International News and Events

As thousands of refugees streamed into Berlin, they strained the health care system. Rotarian and physician Pia Skarabis-Querfeld spent the last three years building a network of volunteer doctors to help those in need.  To learn more about this story and other current Rotary events, check out News & Features at

President's Message
Kenneth Courter
Good Day,
We are embarking upon a busy time of year for Rotary.  The next event is a Car Seat Safety Check this Saturday.  Please volunteer and see your club in action.  In April we are co-hosting a Health & Wellness Expo on April 28th at the Sterling Community Center.  This will include our annual Blood Drive with Inova.  The following week we have our $10,000 and 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food  Loudoun Hunger Relief and donations to the Interact Scholarships at our three area high schools.
I need everyone to be a Block Captain for the Ashburn Cares Food Drive.  You will receive a LHR donation box to fill at work or home.  This will also require you to share the campaign flyer with family, friends and co-workers.  You will be pleasantly surprised at the outpouring from the community.  Note that the flyer is also asking for donations to Interact or Loudoun Hunger Relief.  This event is great for your children to earn volunteer hours in hands on engagement.  Show them how charity truly begins at home, neighborhood and in Ashburn.
See you Thursday,

Ken Courter, President, Rotary Club of Ashburn, VA

The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:

Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
