President's Message
Kenneth Courter

Dear Rotarians:

This is my last letter as President of the Rotary Club of Ashburn.  At today’s Board meeting I was asked what I enjoyed and what I wish I’d made time for as the President. I quickly rambled how very proud I am of the volunteer work we accomplished. I wish I had learned more about the scope of Rotary International.

We started out the year in turmoil and managed to quickly get back on track to help those in need. The speaker lineup kept us engaged and appraised of the happenings here in Ashburn.  Our Water Project was a highlight lead by Howard Manas. Angela Bess’s work in Haiti made each of us proud.  The new members recently recruited will improve the dynamics.  The Old Guard has been generous with showing everyone the way.  We also teamed up with other clubs to make a difference in St. Thomas, V.I., which is in the U.S.

I pray that you have a calling to serve and join committees and attend regional, national and international RI functions. Where your pin proudly and be excited that you are a member of the greatest club in America. I promise you will have a ten-fold benefit derived from your investment. The best Rotarians are those who have the spirit, heart and courage to help others.

With Love and Peace,

Ken

Rotary:  Making a Difference

Stories
2018 - 2019 Theme

RI President-elect Barry Rassin’s theme for 2018-19, Be the Inspiration, asks Rotarians to inspire change in the world and in each other. “I ask all of you to Be the Inspiration to help Rotary move from reaction to action — to take a hard look at the environmental issues that affect health and welfare around the world and do what we can to help.”  As a member of the Rotary Club of Ashburn, VA, you helped make a difference throughout our community during 2017-2018.  As we move forward into 2018-2019, learn more about how you can be a true inspiration to those we serve.
